Stuff [Apr. 19th, 2007|02:10 pm]
Three weeks left of classes if I did the math right. Going to be graduating in the middle of May. Will probably have a small get together.

Passivly looking for work right now. If anyone knows of a possition opening up in May/June that you think I would fit let me know.
Will start more activly looking as the semester winds down.

Most likely not going to be going to ComicCon this year. Going to be in D and Janelle's wedding party and that is going to be the Saturday of Con with the rehersal the day before.
And no I can't get out of either part of it.

I think that is it for now.

Las Vegas [Mar. 24th, 2007|10:33 pm]
Currently in Las Vegas. Left San Diego about half an hour after I got home Friday night, to keep Rob company on his trip out this way.
Should be home by Sunday night.
I think that Vegas is not the same when you didn't come to gamble.

Disney Trip [Mar. 12th, 2007|11:17 am]
Last night I was told more people than I thought want to go to Disneyland. This is cool, but I still need to have anyone who wants to go with let me know so we can work out the logistics. I think that everyone can behave themselfs so I don't think anyone would know that we have more people than listed in the hotel room so that shouldn't be an issue.
However, I still need to make the reservations. Right now we are aiming for checking in the 30th, staying the 31st, and checking out on the 1st in the morning. And I would like to make the reservations before Wednesday.
Also if more than five of us are going up we will need to arange another car.
Tickets are going to be $100 for one day at Disney and one at Cal Adventure. If anyone knows where we can get a better deal on short notice let me know and we will do that.

I am sure that there are other things that I am forgeting but these are the basic bits. Get ahold of me sometime today if you are possibly going to come with so I can get an estimation of things.
I have class today for my regular schedual and am interviewing later but should be able to answer my cell, if I don't pick up leave a message.

Doug and Tab: Tiger said he would change those links if we send him the links to our pages.

thats it, more later.

Tab and Doug [Mar. 5th, 2007|11:36 am]
Let me know some time this week when we are going to do the Disneyland trip. The sooner I can reserve the rooms the less it will cost.
The tickets are going to be $100 a piece for one day at each park.

Personal Statement for Grad Schools [Feb. 12th, 2007|11:55 am]
This is the rough draft of the personal statement I intend to submit to Law Schools, I am supposed to keep it under 500 words and am wondering what you guys think I should add, remove, emphasize, or get rid of.
So give me your opinions if you have them.

In my life I have had to overcome difficulties that most people have not had to face. My parents divorced due to mutual drug use when I was in elementary school and by the time I entered high school I was a ward of the California court system also due to that drug problem. On the day that I turned eighteen I was told I could no longer live at the place I was staying and was rendered homeless for while. After a year of living from place to place and working where I could I decided that this was not the way I wanted to live my life and that the only way I was going to make my life better was by getting a better education.
I started attending Grossmont Community College in El Cajon. Do to my unique background I was able to get financial assistance from the state which helped me to pay for school. Though financial aid did help pay for my education I had to get creative in order to pay for other expenses that came up in life. While I worked as a security guard during the summers and winters, working and attending classes at the same time proved problematic at best. During those semesters that it was difficult to hold down a part time job I would find ways to make money going as far as selling blood plasma at times. As a student at Grossmont I was able to participate in the fencing program and even served as a teaching assistant for the fencing class, helping other students learn the basics of competitive fencing. Though going to school was difficult at times I was able to make headway and transfer to San Diego State University majoring in Sociology.
In my time at SDSU I have been able to take some very interesting courses ranging from courses on deviant behavior and delinquency to creative writing. The professors that I have had the chance to study with have been able to give me a broader view of the world than going to community college was able to provide. I have recently been able to work as a teaching assistant again for one of the sociology professors, helping other students review material before class. Becoming a member of SDSU’s Pre-Law Society has given me a chance hear different lawyers speak, and to better understand what it takes to be a law student.
While I have come quite far from my beginnings I believe that I what I have achieved in life so far has prepared me for the difficulty of the level of work that one faces during law school and that your program would help facilitate my further educational goals.
